Moose and Elk Meat Recipes and How to Cook
I have a friend in Nebraska that set me out some Moose and Elk Meat in the form of Loin Steak, Cube Steak, Sirloin Tips, Ground, and a Roast. I have cooked beef before and have wyas to cook it but not for Moose or Elk. Do any of you have any ways/recipes you like? What about marinades as well. My mom fixed a lot of moose dinners while I was growing up in Alaska. My mother-in-law, who currently lives in Alaska, is visiting us now. I asked her about the situation you are in, and she claims you can could cook either the same way you would cook beef. Keep in mind moose is "gamey" tasting. As I recall, it depended when in the season your killed a moose as to whether it was fit to eat or not. If they were in the "rut" we wouldn't even bother to kill the things. Maybe you could google the topic and get better results.
