Just curious what everyone else has found with Ethanol fuel additives....I've tried both the Startron and Stabil brands of Ethanol fuel treatment....My rig seems to do better using the Stabil brand....Has anyone else found the same???

I use the Stabil Marine type. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Yep, Stabil Marine. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Startron with no problems.
HP
I've gone to the Stabil Marine too. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif
I've been running Seafoam. Not necessarily an ethanol fuel treatment but it is an stabilizer. Catch it on sale 6.99(reg 8.99) and can find it almost anywhere now. Good stuff I think.
At the recommendation of Don Weed, Master Merc Tech, I put the folowing cocktail in each tank before fill up:
1 oz per 6 gals of either Marine Stabil or Mercury Fuel System Treatment Concentrate;
1 oz per 6 gals of Quckleen;
1 - 2 oz per 6 gals of Sea Foam.
Sounds like the punch at an frat party. Best of both worlds. May have to try that. won't use as much either from one type or another.
I use the Stabil Marine and Sea Foam.
Add that to the Yamaha Ring Free and the Yammilube 2M and I think I'm running about $6.50 - $7.00 a gallon http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/crying.gif

From all I've been told the Ring Free is doing the same thing as the Seafoam Daryl. I run 1oz of Marine Stabil per every 10 gallons and 1oz of Seafoam per gallon of gas.
I've been wanting to use the quickclean but havent found anyone locally that sells it.
You guys order it, or what?
oh, I run the marine stabil.
In that 3.0 liter I was running on the BCB I was using Stabil marine and Mercury Quickclean. Basspro has it down here. High dollar stuff but well worth it. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif A blast of SeaFoam to at times if I was making a long run from RT 5.
Marine Stabil and Mercury Quickclean.
Heard ring free would do the same as sea foam but was cheaper and last longer by ratio. Any one else seen this?

I read on the BBC a guy soaked, over night, two badly carboned pistons, one in Sea Foam and one in Ring Free. He stated the carbon was dissovled from the one soaked in Ring Free and none was removed from the one soaked in Sea Foam. Ring Free states on the label to use one ounce per ten gallons of fuel and that is what I do with my Yammie! I also buy fuel that has NO ethanol in it. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
I used to use SeaFoam, and it's a really good product, but the price has sky rocketed over the last two years. Now, it's considerably cheaper to use Quickleen or Ringfree than SeaFoam. SeaFoam requires one ounce per gallon of gas, where Quickleen and Ringfree are around 1 ounce per 10 gallons of gas. When you do the math there, the Merc and Yamaha products are much, much, cheaper. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/glasses.gif
Guess I am going to have to step up the mix http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif been running 1 oz Yammie Ring Free and 1 oz of Blue Marine Stabile per 10 gallons http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/glasses.gif If http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif Don says per 6 gallons it's a done deal. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
I spoke with Don awhile back and he said either Startron or Marine Stabil along with Quickleen would do the trick...
