1996 150 hp evinrude intruder problem
Question this motor runs great when its cold. But after running it for a while I shut it off and then fish a spot maybe 30 mins later, I restart the motor and the rpms are way low and it dies out if I dont pop it in gear rite away before the computer drops the idle speed. I have had it in the shop half a dozen times to try and fix the problem they changed the stator thinking the windings open after getting warmed up. They changed the power pack, thermostats, water pump, and even pulled the heads off and cleaned out the ports, they changed the primer bulb they reset the carberators to evenrude specs checked the timing changed spark plugs and nothing made any difference. The only thing that works is reving the engine at start up for a while and then it idles fine after i bring the throttle back down.
I have pumped the bulb up before re-starting and that does'nt make any difference.
Any Ideas what the problem is?

To test it try letting the engine idle when you come off plane, prime the fuel bulb and shut engine down, what this will do is cool the engine after a run and add fuel to the system.
