carb? and possible diagnostic?
1995 Evinrude 150 Model #E150ELEOM
Today while running up the lake, the boat started missing at WOT. later when I tried to get on plane it took forever. Just kinda bogged down, then I didnt have full power. Took it in and the tech changed plugs (which were rough looking) and checked compression and spark on all cylinders. It sounded better on the muffs at the shop, but havent had it in the water yet. He said the carbs needed to be rebuilt to make it run better. about $400.00. Does this sound right?

Of course it sounds good on the muffs with no back pressure. About right on the carb job. If you have the boat back and go to the lake tomorrow run it and if it starts to mess up hit the choke if it picks up then you have a fuel issue if not electrical.

Mine done about the same thing a month ago, sent it to the shop for carb rebuilds 400.00, ended up being the vro cost me 504.00 but it runs great http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif it was pouring gas in the carbs and flooding it out

Went to the tourney and finished 3rd, but the boat doesnt run. Today it is worse that it was yesterday. It doesn not solve anything when you hit the choke or pump the bulb. I guess it must be electrical then?
