Re: Flu shots (Big Johnson)
I've heard of a quite a few people getting sick post flu vaccines over the years. I take my chances, never get the shot. Been lucky so far.
Re: Flu shots (FireBassr)
Severe headaches, draining that causes coughing. Tired, etc. I was put on some new blood pressure and heart meds at the same time. It sucks getting old!
Re: Flu shots (FireBassr)
I don't know if it is still the case, but used to be the process for creating the vaccine involved eggs...My Mom was allergic to eggs and got really sick from a shot and had to quit taking them. I am with Greg, I take my chances and do not get the injection.
Re: Flu shots (vatreefarmer)

You're correct in that flu virus are highly adaptable. Every April the World Health Organization (not the WHO of 1970 fame) do have to predict which 3 strains will be the most virulent in order to make the vaccine for the upcoming fall. Not really "last years" but close. And their predictions can always be off. If you don't mind the risk of suffering the flu, most of you really don't have to have it. Obviously the physically weaker should get it however. The ramifications of the flu can be lethal to the elderly.
