112 ultrex was working fine except the lower unit is too hot to touch. Obviously we quit using it. Any ideas what would cause this

Do you happen to have lithium batteries, and did you happen to run it past 8.5 for an extended period of time?
Yes and yes. But I actually have been doing this on our other boat for years though without any issues.Quote:
