Comfort. Ever since getting a pair a few years ago if its warm enough its all i wear anymore. Olukai Ulele, on my 3rd pair
1. Comfortable
2. Not hot to wear in warm weather
3. Quick drying if they get wet
Much like almost all shoe types flip flops aren't for everyone. For instance I wouldn't wear Crocs if they were free. Not a big fan of Hey dudes either.
I can't stand them with the piece between the toes, but I do wear some UA slides (I guess that's what you call them), just a wide strap across the top. Convenience is the thing for me, at the beach slide em' on to go out the door, take em off at the sand, easily fit in the bag on the beach chair. Which, I will be doing here shortly after I eat my breakfast.
No socks.
Feet can breathe.
Look good with shorts.
Rinse Off and dry quickly. If you need to wear them in the water, or mud or much or rocks. Or if the dock is covered in bird crap etc.
The best thing is its like not wearing anything other than protection from the hot deck on the bottoms of your feet. I grew up fishing in Florida and almost everyone wore them. I live in KY now and still wear them any time I can.
I wish I could wear the flops, there can’t be a better choice for footwear in hot weather but I too can’t do the between the toe thing.
so with that said, I am still looking for comfortable hot weather footwear / fishing shoe.
What brand do you prefer?
One guy posted that they look good, but there are no men’s feet that have ever looked good. Y’all must be into pedicures. I’d rather see socks with sandals on men, and that’s a very low bar.
can't do the toe thing but i wear slides daily... got some Tiestra brand from amazon, i like em..
Edit to add, size ran a little small for me, i had to go a full size bigger..
Hey just because yalls feet stay in wool socks and boots 7 months out of the year i bet it is rough on the feet.. on the coast and south i dont think anyone owns anything other then flip flops.. hell ive been fishing with my cousin at the coast and he wheres flops in the winter if its above 50 degrees
I wear them when it’s warm constantly. They are cool, comfortable and dry very fast.
To show off my painted nails. Last year was bright yellow. All the little asian ladies kept laughing.
Rainbow
these are best I have ever worn

I agree with Mark.
i used to hate flip flops until I found ones that my feet didn’t slide around in. Now I love wearing them in summer, just have to find ones that are a tighter fit.
Hey Dudes are a fad that’s quickly dying out it seems, never saw the appeal and were more uncomfortable than flip flops and sperrys which I didn’t think was possible.. Not a fan of crocs as they hurt my knees
All joking aside Olukai are super comfortable and offer good support. You can also find some from Reef that offer good support. Both are great in the boat even when wet you won't slide etc if they are wet.
