Any reviews on the BMG for dragging football jigs and swing-heads?
Ben at Hookup Tackle does a pretty good breakdown about all the P5 jig rods.....

It's way more than an excellent rod for dragging heavy football jigs. It's near parobolic action makes it great for moving baits. 6" Magdrafts, big swim jigs, wake baits, and even some big crankbaits.
Yeah I agree
A great dragging rod , powerful and light
Would you guys say it’s similar to the NRX+ 873C CRR? Or does it have a little more power? I know this is the dragging rod in the P5 line just curious to see what the NRX+ equivalent would be.
My BMG is my dedicated 6" Magdraft stick. Definitely can be used for jigs but I prefer something more sensitive, in my case GLX 854/844. Still a heck of a rod.
Love my BMG.
does a lot well, magdrafts, dragging jigs, light pitching, mag shaky heads, almost anything with single hook.
not the fastest action so there are more sensitive options out there but that rod is on the deck more times than not
Reading these reviews, it strikes me that $500 is a lot to pay for a dragging rod that isn’t impressive in the sensitivity department. The whole point of a dragging rod is to feel the bottom, gravel, rocks, transitions to soft bottom, etc.
As a dragging rod it is very sensitive, it just can’t match the faster rods in sensitivity.
the only dragging rods I’ve fished that are more sensitive is the nrx 903,904mbr, and the Steez BC2
The BMG is definitely sensitive, and very versatile which is a huge plus. I don't find it to be quite as sensitive as say the Steez AGS Bottom Contact II or NRX+ 894c, but it is more versatile. I have absolutely no issues detecting what's going on at the end of the line with the BMG, it's a quality, high end, bottom contact rod that can do a lot more than just bottom contact due to it's action.
