Scuppernong River Question
I have a club tx the first week of May on this river and have never fished it. My question is, how far of a ride would it be to the Roanoke river (roughly). My club has not fished this place, since I have been there the past 8 years. I kinda lost on this one. I have fished the Roanoke before and was looking to head there and fish in Canaby creek. Any suggestions????????????? http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Re: Scuppernong River Question (BassRat)
I'd say 32 to 33 miles from Columbia ramp to Plymouth ramp. If you make the run look out for the wind as the Sound can be very treacherous.
Stay safe and good luck.

And if it is real bad you will break stuff. Two guys last year ran from the Yeopim and one guy tore up a cowling....nuff said about that run when it is rough.

Good advice above. Keep on eye out on SW winds. Although right about now I wouldnt mind some winds out of the south west. Canaby Creek has a reputation for ripping off lower units. I hit something in there in my Stratos 201 while running in what I thought was the center of the channel. That would have been in 96 or so and Ive never went back in there. Several old club members for Back Bay tore their boats up in there as well.

If it were me I would fish the Scuppernong, throw a Buzzbait till yer arm fell off,no need to make a run.
Re: Scuppernong River Question (Purple Haze)
I would stay in the Scuppernong too. Some nice fish to be caught there!!
Re: Scuppernong River Question (Original TrickWorm)
There are plenty of fish in the scuppernong. I would throw a buzzbait and rogue all day long.
