2005 evinrude 150 fuel inj. problem
2005 eveinrude e150fplso 05087392. For the second straight year my middle left injector has had the upper bolt shear in the head and torque allowing a space between the head and injector. Both times i was running down the lake at around 5000 rpms only to feel a hesitation and have the rpms drop to 4000. I have taken it back to the evinrude dealer that fixed it last time. has anyone else experienced this and is there an explantion as to why it would reoccur a year later? The dealer removed the old bolt and replaced it last year. I don't want this to happen again is there another fix that should be done other than bolting the same injector back down?

There is a service bulletin describing a recall of injector bolts. It is #2005-03W. See an authorized dealer to see if it applies to your motor or if has already been done. It is for 2005 60° models, with a serial number before 5111879 in the 135,150, and 175hp engines.
Re: 2005 evinrude 150 fuel inj. problem (SEAHORSE)
thanks seahorse. Do you think there will be any residual problems of pulling that bolt out of the head or running it with the injector allowing air into the cyl. My warranty is close to running out and don't want to come out of pocket for something that happened due to this problem.
