Any of you guys ever had your huydraulic steering go bad? Mine has always been tough to turn by that I mean two hand operation especially hard turning to the left.
Maybe I need to adjust the tourque tab a bit, but even so it should turn much easier than it does.

Never have had that happen http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif ! Did you follow the bleed off procedure? It should take 2 qts to do the job but if you do it right you get to keep a qt in reserve. Dealer install? CM
I had a friend with the same problem.....it seems to me that he had to bleed the lines again to make sure all the air was out, cuz he installed his himself. Good luck!
I added Sea Star myself to my Ranger in 2000 and mine is effortless. One finger driving at any speed. No hands and it stays straight until you turn the wheel. Just a guess but it sounds like the piston/cylinder is in a bind at the motor or a problem in the helm itself, which would be rare. Are all the nuts and bolts secure at the motor and everything straight? Also, is there enough slack in the hoses for the motor to turn freely?

Knurled adjusting nut on tilt tube over-tightened
Restrictions in hose, tubing or fittings
Cylinder interfering with engine cowling
Air in oil
Wrong oil has been used to fill steering system like automatic transmission fluid or any other oil with a high viscosity factor.

Look at the motor cylinder especially the arm the cylinder attaches to on the motor... the motor is shipped with 3 bolts in the steering arm, if the other 2 bolts were not removed they will drag against the motor cylinder and it will make the motor hard to turn.
Thanks for the replies I will check it out today. I have already made an appointment with dealer for other issues I will most likely have them tend to this matter also, after all what good is warranty if you don't use it.
