09 175 Etec running rough
175DPLSE Took it out for the first time Saturday and IT started up great, run up and down the lake a couple of times and then was sitting in neutral for a few minutes. When I went to give it there no no power for a second or 2. This happened a number of times. Could this just be a matter of needing a new fuel filter? Thanks for any help.

If it was mine and it's an 09' I'd talk to the dealer where you bought it just to have a paper trail in case something bad happens to your engine http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

I have a 92 and had the same type of problem....carbon buildup....I used to clean my plugs every time I took it out but finally decided to have it checked out. The problem turned out to be that the thermostats were running the engine too cool, which is bad for a two stroke causing carbon buildup.
I switched to fixed gap plugs when I had this problem because they last longer and are easier to clean and you dont screw up the gap when cleaning them.
