2001 mercury 200 efi downgrade to 2001 mercury 175?

Hey everyone,
I have a 1999 ranger 91 with a 200 mercury efi that I bought with a blown motor. I replaced it with a "rebuilt" motor that is a 2001 mercury efi. It threw a rod though the block less than 6 months after the purchase. (Not happy). I recently found a 2001 mercury 175 efi that looks like a good deal.
I have a couple of questions and I'm hoping one of you guys that knows more about these things than I do may be able to offer some advice.
How much power loss (speed) will I be looking at by downgrading?
Can I use the parts from my blown motors to turn the 175 into a 200?
Is it worth the effort?

Serial Numbers for the engines in question would help.

porting in block of 175 is different for 200 as well as ECU and few other small parts so no you cant bolt on 200 parts and have a 200 from a 175 :confused2:sorry , many will say you can but you will not have a 200

You'd be way better off finding a "good Deal" on a used 200 vs modifying this 175.
Plan B if you end up with this 175. Run it as is, go fishing and be content.
