I mean makes me feel better running into the store quick, but still easy for someone to cut your mount apart to get them off.
That being said I don't care for the dura safe elock. They rattle like hell.
BoatEFX is the best lock going IMO. The DuraSafe can be picked fairly easy.
This is why I like my Garmins.
I can pop them right off and store them in a safer location like inside a locked storage locker or inside my truck.
I have the Boat EFX. They work fine and offer a little peace of mind when leaving the boat unattended for short periods, but they are just a deterrent. If some scumbag wants your units, he’ll probably get them.
I use security torq screws and nuts , don’t take up any extra space and don’t rattle and don’t cost much . Like stated before if they really want them or anything they will get them
i got these seemed like plenty for the cost if they want it they will get it likely

I like the Garmin Echomaps since they can be easily removed in 2 seconds and stored in a secure location. .
Don’t understand exactly how these work. Seems like it locks the unit to the gimble. Couldn’t a thief just disconnect the cables and remove from the mount base? At least with a RAM or Johnny Ray mount, it would come right off.

I remove my grpahs if I'm not on the water.
I, too, remove mine when not on the water. Better safe than sorry!
If some one wants your graphs and all that stand in the way is those locks, they are going to remove the entire gimbal or they are going to destroy your fiberglass consoles. If you have the locks on they take the winch off your nose hook and hook it to the gimbal mount does anyone think the locks are going to matter? Just a thought....
I just say a short prayer and call it a night.
Buy cheap. If you need a $2000 FF you can't fish anyhow, stay home with your boat. You need depth and bottom composition and some smarts.
A battery recip saw will zip through a gimbal mount in about 25 seconds…. Not as loud as a grinder.. and not as noticeably loud as you’d think!!
Don't use locks, my units go on and off at the ramp, no theft or road rash. When not mounted to the boat, both units sit in a padded case.
Count me as another who remounts the units every time while prepping and removes them after taking out.
