All insurance companies seem to be on a war path with price increases now. If yours hasn’t gone up yet, it will. Some are refusing to write policies in Texas now, due to all the hail storms and natural disasters that we’ve had. I can help them save money, stop the stupid advertisements on TV, that would help their profit margins immensely.
shop around lots of other places and prices out there
Yes shop around, but i'm doing homeowners now and its has gone up too.
weird since both we (my wife and I) and my parents have State Farm for everything. We’ve had one increase in the past 6 years and it only raised my rate $100 a year. My parents have had 2 increases and that’s because they’ve had 3 accidents in the past 5 years.
when state farm raised our rates this year, they gave us plenty of notice and even offered to help me sign up for defensive driving class which would offset the increase.
We pay roughly $250 a month for 2 vehicles (14 Durango, 19 Forester) with best coverage they offer, house, umbrella, boat/trailer with 300k liability, and a pop up camper.
I have had nothing but great experiences with State Farm. If there was ever a question I called the local office and spoke to them personally, can’t say the same for other insurance companies.
I just switched from State Farm because of the huge rate increases. Saved over $150 a month switching to Travelers...
Know someone who has a different insurance company every year, the lowest quote gets his business, he told me his only loyalty is to himself !
I have State Farm and I'm well pleased with them. I've never had a claim though. My insurance went up 21 dollars this year. First increase in two years.
US Auto losses have been brutal - liability claims through the roof, cost of repairs through the roof. You're not being gouged... But, I would still shop around with all of the reputable carriers in your area for the best coverage / cost.
so far so good with State Farm no increase in rates (not yet) been with them for 6 years.
I've been with state farm for almost 40 years. bundled coverage, home (340K) two vehicles, motorcycle and boat, full coverage on all with 300K liability. Filed a claim last year for hail damage on roof. No hesitation on their part to approve full replacement. In the past year I've had an increase of maybe $5.00 a month on my premium. Still well under $400 a month.
I recently changed my multiple vehicles from Geico to Mercury and saved quite a bit. After many years and for no reason Geico tried to increased my premiums drastically and I switched!
The problem with changing to some of these smaller carriers us when it comes claims time. You might suddenly realize why their rates sounded almost too good to be true.
We use USAA for auto and homeowners. We have had one homeowner claim(water damage) in 28 years and only windshield breakage for auto claims. We drive high mileage cars.....a 2005 Lexus GX 470, a 2012 Tundra, and a 2013 Lexus GS350. We do have full coverage with a $500 deductible on collision and a $100 on comprehensive. $900 every six months. I am going to shop everything in the next few weeks. I have no loyalty and just want to save money.
