Triton moving to new boat building at Ranger factory in Flippin, AR.

Just announced on the radio here. It is about 25 miles south(10 m as the crow flies) of the midway location, fyi. Bob
I did not put the red anger face on this post. I just heard the news and thought this forum might like to know. I have never owned a Triton or a Ranger but they have all been under the BPS umbrella for a while. I see no reason the same owner would stray from what its customer wants.

bought the legend factory, stopped making a great boat, and now shutting it down and likely cutting workers????

Makes sense when times are tough and likely to get tougher in the boat sales market. Consolidating overhead is what most companies do when business slows. Unless they sell the Midway facility, they will have it ready to increase production if and when needed. I see this as a necessary cost cutting move for the time being. I am not too alarmed by this move and Flippin isn't all that far from Midway if memory serves correctly.

Sucks for the workers. Hopefully everyone can transition and stay afloat

The last time JM moved the Triton factory, quality control went downhill. I know of many Triton owners who had numerous problems with their boats during that time frame. I have owned Tritons for close to 20 years and I can honestly say that my next boat will not be a Triton. There are other boat manufacturers who are building boats the right way, one at a time....... Not to mention their customer service is way better.

No boat company is finishing boats as good as they used to. My new 20XP had one blemish but the overall finish looks a lot better than my last three boats which weren’t Tritons.

I'm glad to hear that your 20xp worked out for you. All I'm saying is that when factories move, quality control seems to be an issue.
BTW- How do you like your 20xp? Speed? Stability? etc. My friend is thinking of buying one.

Im convinced it’s the best 20 foot boat on the market. I love mine.

Had my last Triton for 15 years and loved it. But when shopping for a newer rig I just didn’t feel the quality was where it should have been for my hard earned dollars. Hope they make it through the transition ok.

Not sure where the "newly expanded facilities near Flippin" are but Triton was made in the Ranger factory for several years and the only other facility that I can think of is the Ranger aluminum factory up the street which was expanded right before production moved to MO and now serves as the Ranger warranty and pro-staff refurb shop. I was on my way to Mt. Home today and met a truck getting on 65 at Gassville heading west towards Flippin carrying hull and top cap molds, on my way back about 45 minutes later I meet the same truck at Flippin empty getting back on 65 headed east like he was going back to Midway to get more molds.

Sounds like they are in the process of moving, I wonder how long you'd want to wait before ordering a new Triton now...

for those that havent figured it out yet high priced bass boats are in a big slow down there is no sense in building more boats to compete with the boats on lots they tried that in earlier years there were new boats on lots 3 years old. the outboard builders have slowed too. you dont need as many folks to build less boats.

Can only speak to my experience. have a new 20Xp on order, & dealer has said they will refund my deposit if the fit n finish is not what it should be….think that speaks volumes for my dealer! I went through the 2018 move of TRX20 Patriot Elites to Missouri and have no desire to go through that fiasco again—won’t hesitate to back out. Took almost a year to get everything corrected including taking a year to get me a new trailer to me to replace a wrongly built trailer. It’s a great boat now but I don’t wish the year’s frustrations on anyone!! So not sure when I’ll ever see the new one especially after Cesstratton met a truck with top caps on its way to Flippan!! Best thing I can say is that I have 3 prospects for my used boat and will run it till I get the new one. Here we fish 12 months a year so spring is a long way off! PS: Landar……what’s your PTP measurement? Pro’s Choice out of Missouri say their manual Jack plates that show being adjusted after the factory paint job was done by the factory not them….. hope my experience out of Flippan is as good as yours built out of Midway! But then again I’m an old retired guy and can’t wait for the prices to go down…..unless the finished product Sioux!

had same issues with a ranger never seen water first year as it was always at dealer being fixed
