I just unboxed my new Bravo XS 26 pitch prop..the prop box has the correct XS label on it and the part number stamped on the prop is correct for the XS prop..here is where i am stumped, it only has 4 PVS plug holes and not the 8 that i was expecting which was my understanding that the XS should have 8..what am i missing here?
Sounds like you got a FS instead of XS if your running it on that 4stroke you should be fine.
Surely Mercury Racing didn’t cast in the prop barrel a XS part number and put a XS label on the box if it really is a FS..i am wondering if they made a change and dont do the 8 holes anymore due to the 4 stroke outboards probably dont need 8..i will be calling them to see what the deal is..Quote:

my bravo1 FS had 4 holes and I sent it to marks props and had 4 more added. was a 2 stroke application though is a great prop
Update..contacted Mercury racing and it must have been Friday at 5:00pm and miller time because the prop missed getting the second PVS holes..different one on the way and verified that it has 8 holes..
What are you running it on that requires eight? That basscat should plane with them all plugged....
