Ficth Plug Indexing...ugg
This is somewhat a word of advice and vent of frustration.
I ordered 8 plugs to to do my V6 Ficht thinking I would be able to move them around and get them all indexed properly. Nope, four are all where they should be but I still have two cylinders where the plugs won't work.
I guess if you figure you have a 50/50 chance of them working then you should order atleast twice as many as you need and keep your fingers crossed.
All I can do now is order another box of four and hope they'll work.
byw ... here's a link with good instructions, that is if you hanvn't already seen it:

I bought mine from Shipstore.com, best price I could find, plus they're only across town for me (Kansas City) so I get them the next day.

8 is all I've ever ordered, Are you sure you aren't trying to get 'em too close to perfect? There is a pretty wide margin that you have to play with.

One thing I do when I get started is pull one that lined up close to the injector and look at where the thread started in reference to the electrode, at that point I lay out all the new one and try and get them lined up accordingly. do this on both sides. The last two times I changed plugs I only had to use 6.

Best method I've found is to draw the line on the plug and when you install it finger tighten it only. Look at the line in relation to the injector. The back of the box the plug came it says to tighten 1/2 turn after snug. If the line on the plug won't line up within this 1/2 turn that plug will not work in that cylinder.

I might be trying to get them a bit too perfect. Four of them are within 45 degrees of the injector. One is 90 degrees so I guess this one would be right on the edge of the margin. The last one is about 10 degrees past 90 degrees. I figure I order another box of four and see if I could get those last two in a better position.
Then again, I just wonder how big of a differance it could make. But, if the manual calls for indexing then I'm going to following the manual. Untill I had owned this outboard I had never heard of indexing spark plugs.

Also, I would check the gap in the plugs... I think they want them between .28 and .30 on the guage http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif
