Occoquan Reservoir Report

I have recently moved to Virginia and got a kayak so Monday I took the day to explore Occoquan Reservoir. I have heard great things about this lake but it did not work out for me. The lake itself was pretty blown out and water temps were anywhere from 47-50 depending on the spot. I fished all day without a bite. I tried deep and shallow water mostly down the lake towards the dam from the boat launch with no success, throwing all the usual winter muddy water baits. If anyone has any advice I will gladly listen.
