Re: prop problem (meallenjr)
There is a plastic part you can get from your dealer that will go into the lower unit. I call it a blow out ring.
What is happening now is you are getting to much exhaust gas coming out between the prop and the lower, this part will reduce the gases coming over the prop, and force them through it.
I think I paid about 15 bucks for it.
Re: prop problem (Lockjaw)
thanks i will lok into it
Re: prop problem (meallenjr)
where can i get the blow out ring been looking online and cant find it
Re: prop problem (meallenjr)
Any dealer should be able to get it for you. See if you can get ChampionMan to come up with a part number. I didn't see it on the parts schematic.
Re: prop problem (meallenjr)
The part number for the weed ring on a renegade prop is 350626 for the Magnum case and 126669 for the lightning case.

Re: prop problem (meallenjr)
Nope yours is not the magnum case. The one I have I got for a 200 and it works in my 150 too.
Re: prop problem (Lockjaw)
how do you tell what lower unit you have it don't say in the manual? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif
Re: prop problem (meallenjr)
No the model number denotes the gear case you have. It appears that LJ has better info then the mods have. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Re: prop problem (ChampioNman)
so by my motor model #(J200STLEUB) i have the lightning case?
Re: prop problem (meallenjr)
CM is making fun of me, which makes me think something is up.
A lightning case comes on HO motors, and has lowered water pickups. It is pretty unique looking.
The magnum case is a newer case, unless I missed something. The bullet is larger diameter. I thought it came out recently, like in the last several years.
Mine has a standard case, at least that is what I call it. Its bullet diameter is not the same as the magnum, but I think its the same as a lightning.
Now CM can correct me if I am off.
All I know is the case on my 200 looked to be the same as my GT175 and my 150. Go figure.
Re: prop problem (Lockjaw)
Your model number has the stock gearcase.
Re: prop problem (ChampioNman)

Re: prop problem (meallenjr)
The pics of your prop to me clearly show it to be a 3 blade, probably a Raker. It has a full or large hub and the 4 blades, the Shooter and the Renegade/Renegade Bass all have a small hub. The 3 blade doesn't need nor will it work with the "weed ring", only the small hubs can accommodate the ring. BUT originally your question concerned you not getting on plane and that someone suggested Vent holes indicating that the reason you can't get on plane is that you can't spin the prop. Is that the case OR are you spinning too much? The Raker thrust washer is a thick do-nut looking hunk of steel, whereas the Renegade and shooter thrust washers are much thinner but don't fit in the prop well and would allow it to seat to far into the casing, and it would be rubbing. I really don't know what you are using.
Re: prop problem (Garfish)
Actually looks more like a Michigan Prop or something other than OMC. If he post up a picture of the prop barrel we'll know what it is. Bottom line is he has a stock OMC 1.86:1 gear case. No whoopie doopie Magnum or anything else.
Re: prop problem (ChampioNman)
It looks like a predator that I have that is a 4 blade. At least that is what the guys on FB said it was. I call it a Merc mystery prop.
It will flat get it too. Fastest prop I have run on my current and former boat.
