2000 johnson 225 ho gauge
I have a 2000 johnson 225 ho with the i command gauge (i think that is what it is called) It is a tach with 4 warning lights on it. Can anyone tell me what the lights tell you and if there should be a horn or anything that beeps when the key is turned on? I am very new to this setup so please bear with me. My old motor would beep when the key was turned on and audible alarm if something was wrong. Is there a users manual for these things-i didnt find one when I searched. Thanks again...Jon

That would be the System Check gauge built into the tach. The 4 lights should be check engine, no oil, low oil and water temp, maybe not in that order.
There is a beeper that beeps once when the key is turned on then it has corresponding tones to the faults that system sends out with a corresponding light on the system check gauge.
I do not have a manual with mine but perhaps the other can help you with that.

Is this info in the manual? What things would set off a check engine light? I will have to take a look at why it doesnt beep.

I think you need to get an OMC Accessories Service Manual from around that time frame as that has more detailed info in it on the System Check gauge.
The system will warn you of the typical things that the motor can warn you about using the standard sensors for oil, overheat etc.
If your beeper is not beeping and you have the proper System Check ready wiring harness installed then I would check the beeper itself to make sure it is hooked up properly or still functioning. I believe it is a 12V beeper so running 12V through it should make it scream.
Maybe one of the techs here can better confirm that stuff for you.

The check engine light is for fuel problem. As soon as the key is turned it should beep and cycle through the system left to right. As said before the lights are low oil, no oil, overheating, and check engine.

The check engine light will be activated when the fuel vacuum switch pulls 6-7 inches of vacuum, this is caused by a restriction in the boats fuel system.
