Also I hear you need to mount duh antenna away from duh unit but I can't find that in the "book". I bought the Ram mount and the antena mounting plate that make it all 1 piece in one place....I guess I coulg try that and if it don't work I could move it...

BPS finally marked them down to $209....my price range..LOL

On the back of the tuna schooner behind the drivers seat there should be the place to mount the GPS antenna. You should have plenty of cable with the unit to put it there. JuJu ..... I got the same unit on the Bug Boat ......... the head unit is probably 12" away from the GPS puck ......... NO PROBLEMS with mine. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

Here's a few pictures to show how mine is. Also, I just used double sided 3M tape to hold mine down ...... did the same thing on the Ranger as well.

Guess I've been fortunate as neither of mine have had any problems.

That lil' mounting bracket goes under where you mount duh Ram mount to Duh 'Toon....I think. Won't hurt to try it I guess.

You want to puck to be as close to the sonar transducer as possible. That way when you mark somthing that you've found on your ff the waypoint will be as close to it as possible. If your puck is at the console, and the ducer is on the transom, and your mark a brush pile you'll be 10 or so feet off.

If you're "10 feet off" from "the brushpile" and you 'can't find it' ..........

Got it done....it even came on...LOL Had to take duh boat apart but I did have enough smarts to tape a rope to duh old 'ducer so I could pull the new on thru duh same mass of cables n wires AKA "fish tape".... I took it awhile to find Iva. New tranducer fit the old bracket just fine. got a chip come'n and all I need to do find me on of them cute wire/hole covers. I did use the little ram GPS plate so the unit is all one piece. Didn't want another hole & didn't see no easy way to mount it in the back end... Will try it to see... THANKS for the help....
