Anyone care to share some old Hickory info? I have heard it is TOUGH! Got a small club tourney Saturday out of Laguardia. I know its going to be crowded. Did not have a chance to pre-fish. If anyone is willing to swap any info let me know.

We were catching them pretty good on the river ledges but to me the fish have scattered some and it has been tough lately. Heard up at flippers a guy caught a 25lb sac monday during the middle of the day at one spot on the river so you never know.
good luck
I fished Monday and found them to be scattered with bait everywhere. Good luck.
Thanks guys. I have never found (or actually fished) any of the river channell ledges. I have a few creek ledges I do really well on. I will report back if I find anything.
If you haven't fished the river ledges I would suggest not trying Saturday. The bite is tough out there and will be even tougher if they don't pull any water. Which they usually don't on the weekends. Stay on the mainlake and look for weedbeds with deeper water nearby. Texas rig, JIG!, buzzbait, frog. Good luck there will be alot of boats out there. Old hickory can ALWAYS fish shallow.
Save me some for Sunday. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

We fish that area on Thursday nights. If you have current, find the current break between the channel and the adjacent flat over a rough bottom or mussel bed, then wear them out with a carolina rig in the current break. If no current (usually a problem on Saturdays), fish the same rough bottom or mussel bed, but they will be scattered as far as 100 yards off the channel. Upsize your offering to eliminate so many small fish. See our weekly report at http://www.facebook.com/pages/...72738 GOOD LUCK!

How did you do in your tournament?
We did terrible. The worst day I have had down there. It was cloudy and sprinkling all day. The deep bite, or ledge bit was non existant for me. I screwed up and should have went SHALLOW. It only took 13lbs to win. The guys who had any weight were flipping the grass lines in less than 2ft of water.
It only took six pounds to win ours on Sunday. It's been a long time since ive seen them back filling that lake that hard. Once the morning bite was done it was finks only. The guy that won it just happened upon a four pounder, said it was first cast. My two went two and a half. My Monday fish were still there but had moved out on a flat and I couldn't make them hit anything when they came up.
That's just Old Stickory fishing.
Went out Saturday and coulnt get anything goin on the ledges. Went shallow and ended up with About 12lbs and one keeper smallmouth
