Question about 2005 225 E-tech
I am thinking about buying a 2005 225 E-TECH with a warranty til 2011. The owner has the motor in the shop because a ring slipped, and they are going to re-sleeve the cylinder, and put a new piston in it. My question is; If it is under warranty, wouldn't they put in a new powerhead ? A mech. friend of mine told me the e-tech takes a special piston, and they need special equipment to do this work. Is this true ? Should I be wary ?

If BRP covers the work and the original owner transfers the warranty to you then don't sweat it you have a warranty to 2011. If you have any questions on the coverage then look at the on stop shopping post at the top of the page and call BRP customer service. Just make sure you have the model and serial number ready. A 225 e-tec won't cut it.
