Need Fishing Reports

It has been an extraordinary winter and I know many of you have been taking advantage of the nice weather. As you know there is an Oklahoma section in the Fishing Reports forums on this site. The last ninety days have been very slow, with almost no reporting.

I know that a lot of you are tournament fisherman and do not want give up whatever edge you may have, but I think you can probably share enough information to let another member know what the fishing is like at your lake, before he drives 50 to 150 miles on his day off to fish.

So, how about applying the Golden Rule and making a contribution?

Where do you post a fishing report? I have been doing some fishing, practically every weekend during this winter and having some fun.

Fishing has slowed some on Grand. They have been hitting jerkbaits in the midlake to down, mostly on points.

Last weekend on Tenkiller, the bite was better. Caught 6 overs and a total of around 20 fish, all on jigs in 10-20ft of water. Threw jerkbaits all morning with no success. Also could not get the smallies to bite. Fished from the dam to Petite.

Went to Eufaula on Wednesday and caught smallies & largemouths on jigs and jerkbaits - main lake points and rocky banks. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif

Welcome Dan. On this site the main directory will show the "Fishing Forums". Once you are there one of the forums is "Fishing Reports by State". There is a forum for Oklahoma, and that is where you can post a report.

You can post in any fashion you like, but be sure to include the date you fished.

I was hoping to get out again this week-end, but ended up working on a Federal Court deadline.

Did drive down to the north end of Atoka Lake to check out a rumor going around here. Turned out to be false...the water is just as dirty and cloudy as I always remembered.

I couldn't just drive to a lake and look at it...so what was the rumor???

The rumor was that after the big "draw down" last summer, the lake was now "clear". The lake has been a ugly light gray cloudy for thirty years. It never clears up!

When I heard that it was now clear I had to see it for myself. That is why I went down to take a look.

It is probably stupid not to fish it. I am sure it has bass in it, and it gets practically no fishing pressure except for crappie and catfish.
