A friend at work this morning was telling me about a boat accident on badin yesterday. He said that one was killed and two more injured. Something about a boat running over a tube? Anyone got the scoop on it?

According to an article I just read a 14 year boy was killed and two others were injured.
Couple new stories. Apparently there was another incident involving a drowning as well. Wow.

Sad indeed.
i think the drowning happened at High Rock and the tubing accident was at Badin over near Uwharrie Point. I was at Badin on Sunday and i am sure there were more boats on saturday. NO WAY i would have pulled a tube this weekend, way to many boats.
that place needs a cop .....there crazy out there .......you well be in a small cove fishing , here comes a 30ft boat with a skier sending out 3ft waves .....they well just wave at you with the biggest smile ,as you are trying to kept your boat from landing on a big stump ....I give them the one gun salute .....then that smile gone like my fishing .....I know the skiers have just as much right to the lake as I do fishing .....but there needs to be better guidelines for skiers , I think
i heard it was a 14 yr driving the boat that was pulling the tube..??? there is a reason for the age limit !!!! time to start checking the age of the kids driving boats/ sae doo...... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/sweating.gif
I think there should be a length/weight restriction on lakes in NC..There is NO reason to be on the lakes with ocean size boats..We used to not see this on the local lakes, now I believe with the gas prices the way they are. The folks with these large boats can't affordto head to the coast, so they dump into local lakes and bring the 3-5 foot waves with them..

Dont ever go fish the TN rivrr system then, they are everywhere. I dont mind the cruisers as much as the net skis and wake boats.
I know..the only time I have ever been airborn in my boat was @ Kentucky lake..going about 70 and a wake came from nowhere..scared the crap outa me.... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif
