Hickory/Lookout Shoals/Norman

Hey Guys! I havent been on in a while, just wanted to let you know of this .... I'm not sure how many of you fish Lake Hickory/Lookout but I'm sure plenty fish down stream at Lake Norman... I took my girls this am to Lookout to bream fish and swim a little up river on a sandy little beach they like. I hadnt been to Lookout since a Thurs nite wildcat a few weeks ago. Ive never seen this before but EVERYWHERE from the damn to the river there were dead clams! Millions! And i dont mean the shells, I mean the snot looking insides floating and some aready had sunk. Smelled of rotting fish on the entire lake.

Im not sure if there was a spill upriver on Hickory? high water temps? recent rains? etc....? But i do know whatever it is, Lake Norman is down stream....FYI http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/sick.gif

Its mussells.Its caused by the hot water temps.

Well lets hope the Shellcrackers eat em up, the bite has been way off the last 3 years on Lookout http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif

I know Catfish luv them.
