Garmin New X3 Chartplotters

Garmin Debuts GPSMAP X3 Chartplotter Series

Still with the same two pieces of cheap plastic trim that don’t fit right (see one minute mark) ask me how I know :ohwell:.

I may be wrong, but i dont see where those new units support the transducers.....per the specs, the side/clear frequency only goes up to 800....

Yea....Sometimes the website misses the mark. I am using a 1243xsv with the current release software and a GT56 connected and all frequencies work.

Looks like the X3 is smaller in physical size but the Resolution seems to be the same

Yep. Resolution on 1243 is same as 1242. Less dead space around the displayed area and it also puts the card reader in back. That can be somewhere between a problem and impossible in some installations. It's a pain for me, but survivable. Probably have to add a card reader if mounted flush in a console.
