I dont use it much cause i dont fish every weekend, but i like it....able to see trees that i didnt know was there in spots i fished.....
I don't use it much either because typically when I get into a situation where I think it would be useful I get lazy and don't want to pull the TM and do all the flipping around of the transducer. I'm sure it's different in everyone's boat, but in mine it takes some considerable balance and coordination to switch orientation while on the water.
That being said it is pretty cool. I also have original 360 and when I have the Garmin on perspective and the Helix on 360, my attention goes to the Garmin. You really can see fish swimming around between rocks and stuff. It has to be fairly shallow water though.
It's crazy to think, but if the new HB mega live is better than current livescope, a guy might be best off with HB for his forward looking live stuff and Garmin perspective for his 360 around the boat stuff. Whoda thunk it... I guess that's assuming Mega live is forward looking. Maybe it's not. Who knows.
I agree. I have a Ranger and you do have to lean way over and somewhat off balance to change to perspective mode. Lining up the little marks on the transducer mount can get a little tricky in the wrong sunlight conditions. They should have painted the alignment marks a bright color so you can see them better. If they are not lined up then your transducer angle is off. Also when I stow the trolling motor in perspective mode, I notice that the transducer hits the trolling motor mounting bracket and can push the transducer slightly up and about one click off of the mark you need to have it aligned with. I have to check it to make sure it has not moved out of alignment before fully deploying it. That is something I should not have to worry about. Its hard enough to remember to watch motor deployment to make sure the transducer wire is clear so it does not get pinched. No way would I try to make the adjustment in rough weather. As a caution I always make sure I have my life jacket on when adjusting. So I dont use it much either. If I would have known it was not as easy safety wise to adjust, I would not have bought the mount.

I’ve found it to be a very useful view when looking for schools of hybrid stripers. Much better than side imaging in that situation as I’m not second guessing what a school is.
I also like it when I’m jigging for bass, spot locked near structure I’ve previously marked. I can quickly see where the fish are in relation to the cover and cast to where I know they’ll see my jig. Whether they take it or not is a whole other story. ;)
