Can anyone with a 492VS tell me the length listed on the title? I live on a private lake and can only have a maximum of 21’. They go off the title, I know some states do things differently but this will give me a starting point.

Not sure this a big help, but it might give you an idea on how Texas had it listed. When I bought the boat, I drove to Texas to pick it up and it had a title on the boat, but no title on the trailer. When I got it home to Arizona, it was the opposite. No title on the boat and I had to get a title on the trailer. When I went to register the hull in Arizona, they took the title from Texas and kept it, so I don't know for sure the length listed. However, this card was the registration card with Texas, which was supposedly pulled directly from the title.
I think just about anywhere is going to have it listed as less than 21'.....

I think they subtract the setback on the title from what I can tell. 21'-5" official listed specs for 492VS. That is 257 inches. Subtract the 15" setback and you have a total of 242. 242/12 = 20.16666 feet, or rounded up to 20.2, which is what is listed on the Texas registration card...
21.5 as posted in spec's, then add if you have a Jack Plate too
Yes it was helpful, thank you.
My opinion is that they would count the length of the boat as being its listed amount on title, which should be short of 21' Any jackplate setback would not be included, as it is not part of the stock boat as it's titled/registered...
Louisiana does not work off length on the title, but the length listed on the 1994 brochure is 20 feet and 2 inches. I'll try to upload the whole page of the brochure.
It’s funny you bring up the manufacturer’s listed length. There is a guy in the subdivision who bought a 20’ and some change ski boat. Missouri rounded up and out 21’ on the title, that excluded his brand new boat from the lake. He went to the state patrol with the title, and manufacture information to have them remeasure and reissue a corrected title. He was successful and now about to run the boat on our lake. I applaud his time and dedication, but not trying to walk that path.
