SteveM tried to warn me...I needed two new live well pumps so Tara and I decided to take a ride..If not for the livewell pumps i would have spent a grand total of 4 dollars http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
If they dont have some wacky sale on rods and reels or something along those lines i cant see myself ever going back..Talk about crap selections http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthdown.gif

The worst part is if they ever do have a decent sale they won't have any of that stuff in stock http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif

A waste of time.

Yup, they REALLY SUCK...I tried calling them on a Friday night to see if they had a trolling motor in stock...40 minutes of calling; zero minutes of answering. Got through early Saturday morning and the person who answered the phone in the Marine Dept had NO IDEA what I was talking about..called Dover Marine, had an answer in 10 seconds and drove there...no more Cabela's for me
Re: WOW i cant believe how bad Cabela's sucks!! (JerryT)
Yup,
Went to Maine back in the spring to look for a specific rod. I couldn't believe the mess of rods they had in the racks. No organization at all. The only organized rods were the Cabelas label rods and some Carrot Stixs. I started to look through all the rods and gave up after a half hour. Then I told a woman at the customer service that serious fishermen want to see this tackle in some sort of organization.
I was also looking for Slider heads and 2 guys working at the reel counter couldn't tell me if they had them. They didn't know what they were and took 15 minutes to find them in the computer and still couldn't tell me if they were in the store.
I left there with 0. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif

Think of Cabelas as a hunting store that sells fishing stuff, where as Bass Pro is a fishing store that sells hunting stuff. Ive been to the one in Hartford, I think out of the 4 times Ive been there I have spent about $20 tops. Def. like BPS for sure.

It's funny to see this post, since I actually like Cabela's a lot better. I was THRILLED when BPS opened up in Foxboro. Every time I've been there (BPS), I've either dealt with a douchebag behind the reel counter who thinks they are god's gift to fishermen because they get to man the reel counters, or some moron who couldn't tell you the difference between a crankbait and a spinnerbait. "Flourocarbon? Whats flourocarbon? If you need fishing line, we have mono over in that aisle," said the BPS employee carelessly pointing towards one entire corner of the bottom floor.
If I had my choice, I'd only order from Tackle Warehouse. They have treated me extremely well since I started ordering from them. Northern Bass Supply is also a great place for mail order, but not very convenient if you prefer a "retail" experience.
