fuel line question...............
Needed a quick fix on a fuel line a few weeks ago.
Went to Advance Auto and got two lines, one line from selector valve to tank and one line from valve to motor.
My question-
Should I be using marine fuel lines instead of auto. fuel lines?
I needed a quick fix at the time but now I think the auto. lines are collapsing and I'm loosing power because of fuel starving.
Make any sense??
Thanks
Re: fuel line question............... (damstriper)
as long as they are 3/8" ID fuel grade line they should be OK.

yes they are 3/8" fuel lines. I was just worried by the feel of the auto. line compared to the marine line.
Seems a little flemsy when you press on it compared to the marine line.
Thanks

ChampioNman,
I thought the exterior fuel lines were supposed to be UV resistant, that's why we bought Marine grade ?? Just wondering.

Re: fuel line question............... (damstriper)
Marine grade type A is a fire-resistant hose, it withstands a 2.5 minute direct flame, plus it is certified to not allow more than a specified amount of alcohol fumes permeate the rubber line. It should be used inside the boat from the tank to the transom in a 3/8" I.D. Auto gas line does not have to meet those safety specs.
Type B marine hose is not fireproof, but still is certified for alcohol use and is suggested for the transom to the motor.
