its been a few years since I been on it but at the time I used a black and blue chatter bait thrown up against the standing reeds, the bass will kill it when it hits the water..

One word: YES
It is at its best when the weather is not very good .... The pleasure boats and jet ski's are still on the trailer. There are some nice fish - but overall it is too shallow, and you need an expensive sticker to launch. In good weather - go somewhere else. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/popcorn.gif
Spearing carp, changing impellers, broken props, a ultra high priced sticker, and some of the biggest idiots at a boat launch you will ever see. OH yes: Bring some acid based hull cleaner with you as you will need it.
"Man it dont get any better than that"
Trailer over the State line (WI) it's worth it!
I did catch a couple keepers, but Geneva is just plain better. The boat will be heading north on that first Sat in May. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Yup it sucks. There are some nice fish in there though. You just have to know where to go. I've had good and bad days out there.
I have fished the Chain for 35 years but not in the last 5. seems that all the dnr is interested in is musky and walleye. I hear they raised the permits to 80.00? just so you can be knocked off the water by 9a.m. by all the a-holes. they can shove it.
