Removing Seats from 2002 Triton TR-186

I have a friend that is trying to remove the seats on his 2002 Triton TR-186. He removed three screws from the front of the seats. He cannot figure out where the rest of the screws are or how to get to them in order to remove the seats.

He believes that he found the screw that secures that back. By prying a little bit on the back. He just doesn’t see how you get at the seat. He was told that the seat has a seam to access the screw, but we are not seeing that.

He is basically removing the seats so that way he can get the reupholstered or possibly just install new seats.

there are three screws in the front bottom of the seat.
then there is one long screw in the middle of the back of the seat. Look for a little hole in the seat in between the seam in the middle. Once that is out pick the seat straight up... it kinda hooks in the back... that is what stumped me... good luck

Re: Removing Seats from 2002 Triton TR-186 (laltec)

MY 2002 tr19 had 3 screws in the bottom front. The back of the seat has a bracket on it. The bracket goes down in another bracket mounted to the boat. If you take the 3 screws out of the bottom front it should lift straight up. If it dont pull out on the bottom of the seat this will bend the bracket a tiny bit. then lift up. Anyway thats how my boat seats were. GOOD LUCK

Top dead center of the lumbar insert, pull the material back and look in the seam. Should be a screw there. Remove that screw and pull the top of the lumbar insert forward gently to reveal a couple more screws

    Thanks for the help...

    He got it.

Arrow points to the access hole for the screw.

Isee Carol from C&O has Triton seats on sale.. what timing... I wonder if it would be more economical to go with new ones... I guess I would have to see what the local vinyl shop charges..

I just took my seats out of a 2000 tr186. I had two screws to remove from the lumbar cushion. One was on the top and one was on the bottom of the cushion. Once the two screws come out, the lumbar cushion can be removed and there was a screw that went through the seat back into the boat. I found that if you pull up on the seat and move it around, these screws break. This makes removal easier.
