Side imaging transducer on TZX 190

The dealer mounted the transducer for my Humminbird 798 and it doesn't seem to be producing good side imaging scans. I'm not sure where else it can be located as I don't have a jack plate and the dealer says it can't be mounted down by the drain plug. I've attached a couple of images.

    Thanks

Looks to me your transducer is tipped up and on a skeeter you need to get the transducer away and below the sponces,,

Thanks. The issue is with the 2012 TZX 190 there is no place on the bottom down by the drain plug where you can mount the transducer anymore. And unless you have a jackplate or mount the transducer way over to the right or left under the sponsons not sure where you can mount it. I have attached another picture that shows this better I think. I'm hoping someone else with a 2012 TXZ 190 can show me where they have theirs mounted.

Looks like the transducer is fine where it is. It just needs to go down half an inch. Then it will be able to see both sides clearly. Then all you have to do is trim your motor up a bit while idling around...

The ZX190 does come with a jackplate but the TZX190 does not and according to Skeeter it's not recommended that you put one on. I've heard different opinions on this but doesn't matter for me due to my garage length I can't have a jackplate anyway. As you can see in the previous pick the transducer looks like it clears the part of the sponson but not the part of the hull just below the sponson. There is no other place you can mount it so need ideas on how to make it clear the hull. I think it needs to be loward and and extended out somehow just not sure how.

How did you end up fixing this? Have a buddy needing to install one on this same boat.

That is funny as they put a 6" on there as standard equipment on the 2013.

I wonder if you mounted under the set back on a pad if that would get it down far enough?
I have the jack plate and still was getting interference. I got the Transducer saver, L Bracket, and 1.5" extension to see if I can get it down far enough to avoid the interference.

I don't know if I would mount down by the step and drains....would be real easy for a stump to knock it off....

Mine is to the right of the drain outlet in the rear on pic. That would be in the way of your 2D tranny but I don't see why it would'nt work on the other side. Stumps permitting of course!

Contact Transducer Shield for a mount. Tell them what you have and they will hook you up with the proper mount. The HB mounts are weak. The TD will protect your transducer and keep it in the proper position.

Wow, forgot about this thread. Thanks everyone for the ideas. I ended up moving the transducer to the right in the 2nd picture under the sponson. It reads great to the right but to the left I have to raise the motor up a good bit to get a good scan. Not the best solution but for now about all I could come up with without fabricating a mount. I plan on getting a jackplate this fall and maybe will see about mounting on the plate then.
