    Gas Gauge Not Working

My gas gauge recently stopped working. Are there any easy ways to determine if it is the gauge or the sending unit in the tank? Thanks for any help.

I have never seen a boat gas gauge remotely close to accurate. Having said that, the gauge on my 2009 Alpha199 quit working. Never figured out the problem, Legend couldn't figure out the problem over the phone, and I had to run new wires. Problem solved. Pretty easy to look at the tank if you have an Alpha.

It is almost always the sending unit. Ground the gauge by touching the wires at the sending unit and see if the gauge goes to full. If so then it’s the sending unit.
