    Tracker Pro 190tx Porpoising

I have a 2017 Tracker Pro 190tx with a 115 Pro Xs motor that start to porpoise around ~5300 rpms with a single rider. The speed is usually around ~46 MPH GPS (52 by gauge) and I have the stock 21 pitch black max 3 blade prop. I have had this boat around 6000 rpm with two riders at around the same speed as above. My motor is still in the factory mount holes which is in the lowest position. Do other users experience this? If I trim down the boat runs smooth as silk but the motor still has some torque left. I'm not to concerned about hole shot but just the stability at top end. I have read alot of people have went with the X7 prop and lowered their pitch with good results.

I have a 2018 with the 115. Mine was set up the same as yours when new. I did not experience porpoising (sounds like you may be over trimming) but my boat became unstable at 46+ MPH by GPS. Based on the advice and experience of others on this board I went with a 19 pitch X7 and raised the motor to the third hole. It was a dramatic difference. My best speed is now touching 50 MPH GPS and the ride is rock solid. It cut my hole shot time by 25% as well.

X7 prop and raise the engine to the third hole will cure all your problems. Mine porpoised with the stock set up too.

I have your same boat/motor and did as suggested above. I couldn't believe the difference.

a 4 blade prop will usually cure porpoising 90% of the time. More blades = more bite!
You'll also be able to trim a little higher because of the more bite.
It will also greatly increase holeshot performance, and usually decrease speed just a tad.

Typical issue with aluminum prop they dont generally perform too well. Good ss prop and raise your motor up as said above and youll be good to go. Is this a standard gearcase or command thrust. Very different prop options between the 2.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I have the standard gear case. Did you have the dealer raise your motor or did you do this yourself?

Did mine myself, easy job just have to be a little creative with what ever tools you will be using. I used my tractor bucket (stationary) with a come along hooked from the bucket to my lifting bracket. I will say its easier with two people.
