If you are curious I have asked a similar question on the Props board.

If you want better hole shot, then go down in pitch.

I'm running a 26 Fury 4..I have slung a blade on 2 of them on my 3rd now ..I think there is a better option out there...but I have not been able to run any other props.

The Fury isn't meant to be surfaced....and if your 625 is set up correctly and you can drive it then its being surfaced. Hence....slinging blades.

I'm going to be trying a 27 Tempest that has been blueprinted this weekend. I also have access to a 29 Bravo XS but that seems a little steep to me.

Rebel1, what is your opinion of the reliability of a Tempest on a 625?

I think its very reliable prop but as with any prop that surfaces.....you have the check the blades regularly, especially if some works the prop and thins the blades.

Jason, this isn’t a prop to pad issue. It’s a 4 Stroke with monster TOURQE issue. People down here been slinging blades on all brands of props with the SHOs for years now.

I don't discount it being a part of the equation either Doug but the Fury seems to throw blades with 2 strokes as well.

How the hell have you been anyway? You still own BOB?

The second day with the 27 Tempest got to a little over 78. It seems to be faster with the jackplate lower than most have told me, I'm at about 1.25 to get that speed. This prop has a really good holeshot but not quite as good as the BravoI that I took off. It's definitely faster though! Still looking for 80...
