Megabass is having shops destroy all their levante stock

I've had this confirmed by a buddy who works at a tackle shop. Apparently there is some kind of defect in levante rods and they have asked all the shops to destroy their current stock. if the shops provide photo proof they will get their money back on the orders. I am curious when Megabass will be releasing a different version of them and I'm wondering how you would be able to tell what's the old stock versus the new stock?

Apparently they're extending the current one year warranty to three years on rods that are out in the wild.

There will be an exchange program setup for current Levante owners with option to upgrade to the XX for a small fee as well from what I've heard. There is a manufacturing issue with the blanks, the graphite was bad and they're having major breakage issues. Stand up of MB to acknowledge the issue and take steps to remedy it for the suppliers and consumers

Yea... OP... your buddy should have told you to keep that quiet until MB released that info to the general public.

As an aside.. I have had 3 break on the hookset and 1 was broken in transit with no visible damage to the rod tube. Uncertain how I want to go. Wait for the new ones or upgrade to the XX.

Im kind of torn. I have bought 12 of them in the past few months and haven’t had any issues with them. I haven’t fished them hard yet though. At first I was absolutely happy hearing that you can trade them in for a comparable XX for $50 but that option ended up not existing. I’m just hoping they don’t fail me when it matters. If it’s bad enough where they forced ALL dealers to destroy ALL rods then it doesn’t exactly give me the warm fuzzies. I don’t fish for big money but I’d still like to be able to trust my gear that I paid a premium price for.

Except for the fact that MB hasn't publicly released this info. The info was for dealers only initially and then to be publicly released.
