    USA Ranger/Yamaha

    I have Ranger 361v I just picked up a Yamaha vmax 150 ox66 I have a 6” jackplate with a trophy plus 24p.
    what should prop 2 pad be with this setup
    1989 Ranger 361v
    2000 Yamaha V-MAX 150 EFI

    Plate height has too many variables to give a definitive answer. Start at 3.5” under the pad,load it up for fishing and see how it runs. You can go up in 1/4” increments until you lose lift or water pressure,when that happens,back down to the last setting and leave it.Also,a Tempest + might run better on that hull unless you need the four blade for big water. Try a 23 if you can, the hub kit in the trophy will fit the Tempest too.

    3.5" to start. I'm with Rip Bass a three blade would be a better choice but that motor will turn a 24" prop easy with the lower gear ratio it has, some even turn 25" props on them. You can use a tempest or an M series Yamaha prop.
