    Fuel economy

Hey guys just curious on your thoughts always wanted bigger boat 250hp but been thinking lately maybe get a really nice 18.6 or 19 footer I dont fish on any tours or anyting so dont need to get to my hole in record speed I can pick choose days i fish so if weather is really bad i dont go.Also sometimes i get to fish every single day for say month and im not sure how much fuel i would burn in a 250 but im thinking say i run 20 or 30 miles in a day fuel prob be 50 bucks? So which would sure add up fast to like 1500 month so wanted to hear some thoughts from guys with the bigger and smaller boats would i be saving huge with the smaller motors and I fish florida real shallow so something that gets out the hole fast would be nice.Did anyone drop from big boat to small one and regret it? The cockpit on phoenix are all same size i believe so thats a bonus.Just curious is all if the Big boat isnt truely nessecary would u ever change or is it something where its just so much more comfortable.

I have a little proxs 150 on a 18'6 for benchmark. I burn about 1 US gallon every 6 miles. In my average fishing morning I will burn about 3 gallons. I have not tested if speed makes a big difference or not. Typically I run 40 with my father in the boat. 50 to 60 if just me

I would recommend a phoenix 819. I talked to a guy that fishes lake Saint Clair a lot and he said it rides great and sips the gas with the 200 horse four stroke motor.

I had a phoenix 619 (19.5 ft) with 2 stroke pro xs that would get 4.8 to 5 mpg at any speed besides wide open. My new 250 4 stroke pro xs on a 721 does 4.2 mpg at same speeds except for wide open

I have a 919 with a Merc 4s. Really impressed with the performance and mileage. I had a 1997 150 hp, uses less fuel than it did. Usually running 60 mph or less. (Can't catch fish at that speed anyway). Handles rough water well!!

No problem coming out of the hole. Even with full tank and livewells. I'm running a Fury 24P prop without any plugs. The really amazing part is once it is on plane you have all of that torque from the 4s. Still playing with the setup but 70's are no problem. Just need more seat time before airing it out. I came from a 18' Stratos with a 150 Rude. Handles completely different. Fuel economy is (IMO) a lot better or just covering more water in a shorter amount of time.
