Summer just started 2 weeks ago!
Well there is still a tiny patch of snow on Mt. Washington up here so I GUESS we can talk ice fishing....
On a side note I caught some nice crappies yesterday vertical jigging in one of my winter time spots. I just love video game fishing, that is why I love the I've so much..

Best guess for safe ice would be second week of December here. Have a few spots that normally have 4” by then. Who knows though some people were ice fishing Black Friday last year

I'm in Duluth during the week...I'm certain that people will be ice fishing within the week. No temps above freezing in the 10 day forecast, with single digit lows coming Sunday through early next week. I can't believe it...wasn't ready for open water to go away so abruptly. I was fishing 55 degree water on Mille Lacs 3 years ago today!

Water on the big lake was 36.5 degrees yesterday, retention ponds have at least 3/4" of solid ice on it. Boat jsut wintwerized an covered Sunday and ice fishing gear brought out and checked and ready to go except for the snowmobile.

Still have a few weeks to go here but I am itching.
local mill pond has ice on it today, not enough to fish , but it will be cold all week so a week to 10 days they will be fishing.
Lakes up here are starting to freeze and that is scary, two inches of ice in one night and there are guys on it already.

we just got 5" of snow yesterday into over night here in NW Ohio! Woke up this morning and it was a crisp 19 degrees out! Cannot wait to get on some ice. Hopefully we will be able to get out on Erie this year!
