    live well vents

anyone installed the V-T2 live well vents in their lids? I have read great reviews on them. It is so hot down here in Florida just want to help out the fish in any way I can. I use G-juice and the air system on my Phoenix is awesome!!
Just curious about where you located them?

I have and love them! I just removed the lid and used a brand new hole saw and it was super easy. I'll never own a boat without them

Great thanks. I sent you a message and would like to see the location. I was planning on mounting mine centered right behind the latch.

+1. Proven many times over. I was my son's boat captain through junior high and high school, he fished the High School Bass Nation trail, and at the state championship on Eufaula in June / July surface water temperatures are easily in the lower 90's. Year without the V-T2's I had to meet my wife back at the launch for another bag of ice to keep the fish from cooking. Same tournament same lake two years later with V-T2's, I was able to lower the water temperature substantially. They help circulate the hot air out and push out the fish gases while underway. They really perform as advertised, and for a minimal cost. I HIGHLY recommend them.

The trick is once you mark the hole saw center, lightly run your drill with hole saw in reverse slowly working the carpet down to nothing. Flip the drill to forward, and make your hole. I did mine with the lids on. Wrapped the lid with a kitchen trash bag held up with painters tape; easy clean up,

X2. I didn't want to deal with the bag it only takes a few minutes to take the lids off. I bought a 25 dollar makita hole saw brand new and did a little reverse then let her RIP. Went through like butter

What did y’all do about the cull tag holder mounted to the livewell lid behind the drivers seat?

You have to drill in reverse first to get through the carpet then forward to drill through the fiberglass or metal

I have these vents and they work great but you should still add ice when the water is warm. Warm water does not hold as much oxygen

I have tried to move the insulation in the lid back so I can see how it is attached, but was afraid I was going to tear it up... it is glued down pretty good. When you say broke it off, you just grabbed the edge with a pair of pliers and popped it off?

I just moved the vents behind the cull strip. there is enough room to do that. The company recommends that you place the vents as close to the center of well anyway.

Had to manhandle to cull tag holder & removed it. As others said, Run drill backwards until carpet cut. Then let the big dog eat. Once done took out trash can liner I put in prior to drilling. Love them & will never own a boat without them.
