Just got to st Clair, what are your confidence baits?

Hey guys, fishing st Clair and wanna get an idea of what you like to throw. I know tubes and a handful of drop shot baits are staples. What else do you like to throw?

Ned rig or similar and you can’t go wrong right now. I hate a spybait BUT if you can wind that slow you will have a ball. Good luck, be safe. Winds look nice.

If you can't catch them on tubes and drop shots you might as well pack it in for the day.

You're better off throwing what ever your confidence baits are. 4 inch swimbaits, tubes, drop shot, spy baits, crankbaits, jerkbaits...they all work

    Do Senkos work for smallmouth?

I've almost always fished Senkos in south Georgia and am very confident fishing them. Do they not work well on SM?

Drop shot a wacky senko. Or drop shot a nose hooked 4 inch senko. Tough to fish a typical senko in 20 fow, but I’m sure some do.

Or just throw a Ned. Drag the bottom. Twitch it like a small Jerkbait, but smaller twitches.

I do ok on smallmouths fishing for other species while having a rod rigged up with a top water ready to cast at an instant when a surface boil happens within casting distance.
