    Can you connect a New Echomap Plus 73SV w/ Chirp to an older non chirp SV GT model xducer?

    yes ... Just keep in mind first gen Non chirp SV GT ducer had four pin connections in some instances.. if so then get a 010-12721-00 plus 010-12122-00 to make it 12 pin..

    but ehcomap plus can still shoot traditional tone burst ducers. 50/200khz or 77/200khz

    Go to your Traditional sonar screen.
    Press MENU->Sonar Setup->Installation->Transducer Type

    Don't select any of them, just look at what's there. Those are the transducers you can use.
    If you accidentally select one, change it back to AUTO.
    Selectiing the wrong transducer can cause damage.

    Ok thanks. Ever since I installed the new 73cv Echomap plus, the touch screen is so much better to use than having to hit buttons all the time. So I want to upgrade my older Echomap 73SV head unit to the Echomap Plus and connect it to the GT 40 transducer, instead of using the newer CV xducers they come with. Then I can touch 2 screens in front of me...

    On the older unit or the new unit?

    Would I also need an adapter for the power?

    I don't know about the power cords.
    Look on the tag of the transducer. If it is GT40 it should be 12 pin. GT40 does non-chirp 2d and chirp side and down-when connected to a chirp unit.
    Menu selections to look for supported transducers should be very similar.

    Ok thanks, I'm gonna check everything this weekend. My 73 SV did show GT40 when it was shooting traditional sonar last weekend.
