    PCB fishing from the beach?

Headed to Panama City Beach in the early fall. Would like to get out and do some fishing on the beach in the mornings. What kind of gear do I need? Rod, reel, lures? I’ve read the gotcha plugs will catch some fish. And also shrimp rigged on a Carolina rig. What else?? I’m thinking of purchasing a Daiwa BG combo. Maybe in the 3000 size with the medium rod. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I really love my Tica Rods for the surf. I use Kast King but I hear a lot of guys love the BGs. If you’re gonna put a rod in a holder get a reel that you can flip the live liner switch or set the drag real light when you walk away from it. 20lb braid to a double bottom rig with #2-1/0 hooks and as little weight as you can get to hold. Cast right behind the waves nearest you or you’ll throw over the fish. Check out some YouTube videos on ‘reading the beach’ to learn what to look for and eliminate unproductive water.
