You sure as heck don’t want someone else’s headache Dri-dok.
I’d be calling coastline in Seadrift and get an aluminum.

Pat is right on. I took Pat's advice and had Coastline build me a trailer for my 1998 203 back in April. My Dri Doc tubular trailer lasted me 21 years before the rust got too bad. I know I got more years out of it than most. At any rate, I am extremely happy with the Coastline and those torsion axles are unbelievable. First time I ever had them on a trailer. Pulls like a dream. Coastline folks are very nice and it is worth the trip. I live in Yantis, TX so you are much closer to them than I. I drove down on a Wednesday, they built the trailer on a Thursday and I drove home on Friday. The cost is very reasonable too. If you end up going, be sure to get the fried oysters at Bubba's Cajun Seafood.

Was the single axle standard for this boat? I was somewhat surprised when I picked mine up and it had a single axle trailer for its length. I know its all about the weight but still surprised me.

It pulls fine with a single, and yes dual axle was an option.
I ran singles because I had to maneuver the trailer into a tight garage.

I’ve got a early TI double axle I beam constructed trailer and other then the crappy pull out tongue design and rust from the diamond plate on the fenders it’s solid as can be, I’ve put new leaf springs and hardware, brakes, and all you could replace. Frame is solid,.
The 2001 ez loader channel is junk, made to rote from the inside out.
look for a early TI trailer or have one built like Pat suggested

I would get a dual axle Coastline aluminum trailer. If you don't have a tight garage as Pat refers to, then the dual pulls much better in my opinion.

I had an EZ Loader Aluminum custom made for my 191. If I was even just remotely close to TX I would have been to Coastline. I think there's would be better. EZ Loader has design plans from when they made trailers for Champion so they were able to make it without the boat on hand, but it was not really 100% there. I had to adjust bunk heights quite a bit to get them to really support the boat like it should. Trailer construction is certainly good but it's on a standard running gear. The fold away tongue seems stout, haven't had one before now to compare to. I had to have a new bow roller pier made because I think the boat was a good 4-6" too far back on the trailer and tongue weight was not enough. In order to move the boat forward on the trailer, I had to have a new pier because the one that came with it from EZ loader wouldn't allow enough movement forward. And I had a Hambys put on, and now there is now enough room between the boat and the spare tire carrier to fit the spare, so I either have to modify that or get a side mount. Too much fiddling for a new trailer is my bottom line.

Aluminum or steel frame? Tube or channel? How is the spare tire carrier attached to the trailer? Great looking trailer.

Aluminum, channel, torsion axles, spare is attached to the heavy duty I-beam using a very strong aluminum bracket which is bolted to the I-beam with 4 very large bolts. There is not any aspect of this trailer that is not heavy duty and very solid. I was so appreciative of Pat Goff who recommended Coastline to me. It was worth the drive to get one built. He was spot on regarding the quality of this trailer.

I've seen a lot of trailers built. A LOT.
    Some are actually pretty good.
But none are better than the Coastline.
