A stranger came into town and headed for the nearby church, relating to the pastor that when he was a little kid his father rang the bell at that church each Sunday, and he'd like to do it as a commemorative thing. The pastor replied that the bell hadn't been rung in years, for safety reasons. Nonetheless, the man sneaked up to the belfry on Sunday morning and the bell pealed out. Unfortunately, on its swing back it knocked the guy off the scaffolding and to the ground, dead. As parishioners gathered round, they asked the pastor, "Who was this man?" the pastor replied, "I don't know his name, but his face rings a bell." Then the next Sunday, the guy's brother shows up with a similar request to ring the bell, and pulls the same stunt. As the parishioners asked the pastor, "And who was THIS man?", he replied, "I don't know his name, but he's a dead ringer for his brother!"
