95 hydra sport LS 185-trouble shoot gas gauge

95 hydra sport ls185,,,done a little you tubeing,guy says jumper from center post,on sending unit to ground,turn key and if wiring from sender to gauge and gauge are good,needle should go past full mark,if it dont move at all its the gauge...,,my unit has pink to center post,black to mounting screw for sending unit ,and 2 green (assuming ground) to mounting screws on sending unit,so i jummper center post to big green grd or to small green grd. help me please,thank you rbass
