I would like to take my 6 year old son to see things if possible. When do they publish a schedule? And is it going out of Osborn, I would assume?

Yes out of Osbourne. Starts at 6 with weigh in starting at 2. With 200 boats I would guess 10 flights. This is Thursday and Friday and then weigh in Saturday at BPS at 3.

Cool, thanks. We went last year or maybe 2 years ago and I think it must have been toward the tail end of things on a Friday. Parking wasn't bad. I've never tried to go in the morning when they are heading out or for the beginning of weigh in. What do you suppose parking will be like out there? I don't want to get in the way or people, also don't want to have to walk a mile to get in their either.

Cool, I think we'll try. I'm in Chesterfield, near Iron Bridge and 288 so it won't take too long to get over there. Getting the kid up that early might be my biggest challenge! I work Thursday, off Friday, but I may have to run out to Lake Anna to pick up my boat on Friday. I suppose Saturday will be the busiest. Do you think any particular day is better than another to go for blast off?

Wow, well I clearly have a lot to learn, which is pretty exciting. Sounds like going on Friday could be cool just to take in the magnitude of it all and on Saturday as well. Would you say on Saturday it would be better to go to Osborn or BPS in the afternoon? I don't know if we'll be able to make a whole day out of it but hey, have car, can travel... Thanks gents.

If you miss it this year don't worry, Bassmaster will come out with the exact same opens schedule next year so you won't have to wait long.

Just go to Dutch Gap by 6am and watch them zoom by. Will get to see them all fairly close, except for the 6-8 that turn into the Meade pit.
Tides aren't great for the Chick. Should be an interesting tournament.
Start at 6am, run time to Chick then outgoing. I’m smiling.

High falling is usually my favorite time to fish the Chick, which is what they will have.. You must be on to something different than me out there.

Low tide around shipyard creek about 2:40. You would have to leave about 1:15 if you weigh in at 2. Tide sucks in my opinion and gets worse Friday being an hour later.
You guys are spot on. When I checked a few weeks ago, I must have punched in the wrong dates on saltwatertides. Best of luck to you guys and stay safe.
